CEDAR RAPIDS, IA—OCTOBER 15, 2009—The Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC), a Cedar Rapids-based business accelerator, announced that three of its clients participated in the 2009 American Food Venture Forum in Des Moines on October 13 and 14. Gluten Evolution an Iowa City-based maker of gluten-free bread mixes, Tri-Phase Drying Technologies of Norwalk which has a high efficiency technology for grain drying and Quadro Vodka, an Iowa City headquartered maker of ultra-premium vodka, presented their businesses at the two-day conference held at the Embassy Suites Des Moines-On the River.
According to the website, the American Food Venture Forum (AFVF) leverages Iowa's status as a top agricultural state to draw innovative companies and those interested in the food venture space to the event. The 2009 AFVF featured 22 companies primarily in early stages of growth.
"This was our first time presenting at the American Food Venture Forum,” said Anna Sobaski, President of Gluten Evolution. “This was really a great event to network with people who are passionate about food-related businesses and have innovative ideas that can impact the future of the food industry.”
