Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC) and Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD) Partner to Bring The Recipe for Business Success Seminar to Johnson County

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA—SEPTEMBER 16, 2010—The Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC), a Cedar Rapids-based business accelerator, and the Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD Group) have partnered to bring EDC CEO Curt Nelson’s The Recipe for Business Success seminar to business executives in the Corridor on Tuesday, October 12. The seminar, designed for business owners and business unit executives, will be held at the South Slope Community Center in North Liberty.

This is the first time the seminar will be held in Johnson County.

The Recipe provides an opportunity for business owners and executives to step back and look strategically at their entire business or business unit—from their “fit” in the market to the talent on their teams.

Led by the EDC's President & CEO and 3-time Inc. 500 Fastest Companies award winner, Curtis Nelson, The Recipe for Business Success takes participants through what defines successful business ingredients and how to execute them.  The seminar content applies to start-up and mature businesses.

“We’re pleased to partner with the EDC and bring this seminar to Johnson County,” said Joe Raso, President of ICAD Group. “It will be a great opportunity for Corridor businesses to spend a day with their management teams and take an objective look at how their businesses are doing and plan strategically for 2011.”

The seminar fee includes a 50-page workbook, including a Report Card for each attendee’s business. At the end of each seminar track, they will have the ability to score their business against the curriculum, ultimately ending the day with a Report Card outlining actionable opportunities for improvement.
