EDC Clients Recognized at Cedar Rapids Area Chamber Annual Gala
Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its second annual Gala – A Royal Masquerade on Friday, April 29th at Theatre Cedar Rapids. Nearly 200 people attended the masquerade event to celebrate area businesses. Rockwell Collins was this year’s recipient of the Howard Hall Excellence in Business Award.
During the event, The Chamber announced winners in the following categories:
- Entrepreneur of the Year Winner: Bruce Lehrman, Involta (EDC Client)
Finalists included: Eric Engelmann, Geonetric (EDC Client) and Shawn Price, Braise Catering
- Chamber Volunteer of the Year Winner: Katie Coates
Finalists included: Doug Schumacher and Carl Yost
- Small Business of the Year Winner: Phil Wasta and John Wasta, Pioneer Workspace Solutions (EDC Sponsor)
Finalists included: Sam Houston, Health Solutions LLC and Jim Thebeau, Henry Russell Bruce
Prizes were also awarded to best dressed male, best dressed female and best dressed couple. Throughout the 35-minute award ceremony, Theatre Cedar Rapids performed songs from the Lion King, Spamalot and Monty Python. At the conclusion of the award ceremony, guests were invited to continue the celebration in the Linge Lounge and dance to the sounds of the Rod Pierson Big Band.
“The evening offered the opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate our accomplishments and support our outstanding businesses and community leaders,” stated Dee Baird, interim president of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.
