EDC Clients Nominated in Six Prometheus Award Categories
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA—JANUARY 27, 2009—The Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC) is pleased to announce that six of its clients are finalists in six categories for 2009 Prometheus Awards hosted by the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI).
The 2009 Prometheus Awards, to be held Tuesday, March 3, at the Meadows Convention Center in Altoona, IA, recognize companies, innovations and individuals that positively impact Iowa’s technology-based economy.
StratosFour of Cedar Rapids, IA, is nominated for Communications Company of the year. StratosFour delivers a full-range of Internet communications services ranging from webinars, webcasting and web conferencing, to web-based application development and multi-media production.
Carroll-based Future Health, Inc., is a finalist for Small-Size Software Company of the Year. Future Health is a healthcare technology company offering intelligent solutions that empower doctors of chiropractic to provide quality healthcare, minimize financial risk, and increase the value of their practices.
EDC clients Eric Engelmann of Geonetric and Matt Miller of MobileDemand are up for CEO of the Year (Small/Medium Company). Geonetric develops web-based software products for the medical industry out of its offices in Cedar Rapids, IA. MobileDemand, located in Hiawatha, IA, provides rugged mobile computer systems focused on data collection and field automation.
Iowa City-based J&J Solutions is nominated for Student Start-up Company of the Year. J&J Solutions has developed a closed-system drug-transfer device for secured, safe handling of medications.
Geonetric is also nominated for Technology Company of the Year (Product) while Marion-based Involta is nominated for Technology Company of the Year (Infrastructure). Involta operates a 20,000 square-foot high-security, co-location data center providing off-site data storage and backup for businesses.
