EDC Clients Make Up Six of 15 Fastest Growing Companies in Corridor

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA—May 11, 2009—The Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC), a community-sponsored business accelerator, is pleased to announce that six of its clients will be recognized at the May 19 FASTEST GROWING COMPANIES breakfast hosted by the Corridor Business Journal (CBJ). This notable list of clients includes: AES Corporation (Cedar Rapids), Asoyia, LLC (Iowa City), Bochner Chocolates (Iowa City), Dynamic Broadband (Cedar Rapids), Geonetric (Cedar Rapids) and HH Ventures (dba Ready Mobile) (Hiawatha). The 2009 FASTEST GROWING COMPANIES breakfast will be held Tuesday, May 19, at the Coralville Marriott.

The CBJ notified the top 15 companies but will not reveal the actual rankings until the breakfast. It is the second year for this event that recognizes companies with the highest growth rates in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor. Companies had to earn at least $350,000 annually and were ranked based on the percentage increase in revenue experienced from 2006 to 2008.

“This is a great accomplishment for these entrepreneurs to be recognized for their fast growth,” said Curt Nelson, President and CEO of the EDC. “It is likely that these entrepreneurs will continue to grow and shape the future of our community’s economy.”

The EDC is a presenting sponsor of the event.
