EDC Client, Geonetric, Joins Iowa Lean Consortium
Cedar Rapids, IA - April 15, 2011 - EDC client, Geonetric, an online solutions company for the healthcare industry, announces its membership with the Iowa Lean Consortium. Designed to bring together leaders from across industries, the Iowa Lean Consortium allows members to share experiences, challenges and success with adopting a Lean culture of continuous improvement. Geonetric will be reviewing processes company-wide to uncover ways to avoid waste, drive continuous improvement, empower teams, and build quality.

The move toward a Lean culture began in 2007, when Geonetric implemented Scrum into its software development process. Scrum, a form of Lean agile development, forces developers to concentrate on enhancements that add the most value to the product. Since adopting Scrum, software development speed has doubled and Geonetric is in the process of releasing the sixth iteration of its VitalSite software, and is poised to make a powerful impact in the patient portal market.
