EDC Client Ruminate selected to participate in Thoughtful Things Fund Event

Cedar Rapids, IA, January 21, 2015 – Cedar Rapids-based Ruminate announced that it participated in “A Day of Thoughtful Things” in San Francisco, CA on November 19th. The Thoughtful Things Fund is an initiative led by Google Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to fund emerging companies and fuel ideas that can expand the capabilities of the conscious home™. Ruminate was one of 11 companies selected to participate in the event.

Newly launched Ruminate hand-crafts designer smart lamps that provide homeowners with eco-friendly LED lighting and wifi connectivity. The lamps tap into the burgeoning Internet of Things to provide homeowners with the ability to monitor House Health™ and provide notifications for events that can be configured through a standard web browser as well as the Ruminate mobile app. The lamps are made from recycled history wood and certified sustainable hardwoods with classic and contemporary styling.

“It was an honor to be selected to participate in the Thoughtful Things Fund event”, said John Raid, Founder of Ruminate. “It was a valuable day spent with industry leaders to gain insights on the growing conscious home movement and to gather feedback on our technology. Being selected for and involved in this event validated that we have a viable solution for this market.”
