Business Rental Assistance Materials Now Available
The Iowa Department of Economic Development will provide financial assistance to eligible businesses located in or planning to locate in a business rental space that was physically damaged by the 2008 natural disasters. Assistance will be in the form of rental assistance to help offset building rental lease payments for a maximum of six months, not to exceed a total award amount of $50,000. In-home businesses are not eligible for the funds through this program.
Application Process:
If you are located within the Cedar Rapids City Limits you must follow the application process outlined below.
If you are located in rural Linn County or the other listed counties on the ECICOG map (Benton, Linn, Jones, Iowa, Johnson (EXCEPT Iowa City) and Washington), you must send your completed application to tracy.dekoter@ecicog.org.
If you are located within the Iowa City city limits you can send the application to wendy-ford@iowa-city.org or call 319-356-5248
Here are the steps to follow to submit an application if you are located within the Cedar Rapids city limits:
#1 Go to web page www.corridorrecovery.org
#2 Click on disaster recovery link at the top of the page (Disaster Recovery Business Rental Assistance Program)
#3 If you have not registered your business do so at this time (follow the directions, it is very easy) if already registered it should take you right to the log in screen
#4 Complete application online and submit - you will not be required to attach your lease agreement at this time - when complete you will get a message Application Submitted Successfully
#5 Jumpstart will call you for an interview and at that time may request a copy of your current lease agreement
