Randy Easton, Consultant
Randy Easton currently serves as Consultant for Entrepreneurial Development Center clients.
Over the course of his career, Easton has managed over a dozen companies with revenues ranging from $500,000 to in excess of $150 million and has served at the Chief Executive level for the past 20 years. In addition to managing businesses, Easton is considered a mergers and acquisition (M&A) specialist, having participated in more than 65 acquisitions of companies ranging in size from $500,000 to $1.5 billion. His expertise in the M&A area involves acquiring companies that lack succession plans and guiding sellers through the sale, due diligence, legal and tax process.
Easton most recently served as President of U.S. Water Company, a company he founded in 1999, and which is a holding company for several Culligan Water franchises. U.S. Water was formed with a single franchise and has grown to 10 locations in 3 states and is currently the fifth largest franchisee in the nationwide Culligan system.
In addition, Easton has also served for the past two years as a Managing Director of TrueNorth Companies, LC, one of Iowa's largest independent insurance agencies.
In 1997, Easton sold U.S. Water to U. S. Filter Company and became President of U.S. Filter Consumer Products Group and Senior Vice President of U.S. Filter.
Prior to founding U.S. Water, Easton was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Bank Western Federal Savings Bank and spent eight years as a consultant with Deloitte & Touche, where Easton was a specialist in the areas of corporate taxation, consolidated returns and mergers and acquisitions.
Easton serves as vice chairman of the board of St. Luke's Hospital. In addition, Easton serves as a board member of TrueNorth Companies, the Cedar Rapids Country Club, and is a member of Young Presidents Organization. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and serves on the Professional Accounting Council advising the accounting department at the University of Iowa School of Business. Easton served for 2 years as a board member and advisor to Startups Unlimited, an Iowa City-based incubator, where he was involved in the development of several start-up organizations.
Easton has a Bachelor's of Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Tax Law from the University of Denver Law School. Easton has been licensed as a C.P.A. in the states of Iowa, Illinois and Colorado. Easton resides with his wife, Dodie, in Cedar Rapids.
