StoryLounge CEO/Executive Producer Vaughn Halyard focuses “the Lounge” on original content. Vaughn is one of the producers of the Iowa-based production of “The Sacred Acre” movie in partnership ESPN Films. The team is fortunate to have the advisory support of Citadel Communications President Ray Cole. Vaughn is also producing for Dan Pearson/Dan4 Entertainment on a Showtime series executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio. Halyard and Sacred Acre Producer Tony Wilson previously produced another Iowa-based film, “The Final Season”, which was released theatrically in October 2007 and April 2008 via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

StoryLounge is a boutique media firm that provides creative, strategic, production, media and technology, marketing and entrepreneurial advisory. Vaughn is the creator and executive producer of “The Science of Thrill”, in partnership with the National Science Foundation.

In partnership with Ken Hertz of HL Media Law, and Membrain, LLC, Halyard and StoryLounge have provided strategic planning and integrated marketing and production services to Sean “Diddy” Combs and BadBoy Entertainment across all demographics, retail, interactive entertainment and media platforms. A former Walt Disney Studios Senior Vice President, Vaughn led New Media and R&D with additional responsibilities as a creative executive for the Buena Vista Music Group. He frequently represented Disney internationally on issues related to branding, intellectual property, and emerging media business strategy.

A respected member of the creative community, Vaughn was an Executive Producer on the Indie film “Duck Farm No. 13” written and directed by Iowa native Becky Smith.

He has two Grammy Awards and an Oscar nomination for producing with Stevie Wonder. A former Columbia Records senior director of A&R and staff producer, he worked with American Idol’s Randy Jackson. He also produced, played drums, keyboards and toured for Jimmy “Jam” and Terry Lewis’ FlyteTyme on projects with Janet Jackson and others.

Vaughn holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College where he has also been a Research Fellow and lecturer. Additionally, he has guest lectured at Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley and University of Iowa, Wharton School of Business, Thomas Weisel Partners, MOBE, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Maxi-Media Brazil and the German Government on Global Digital Rights Management.
